Pairing Your Talkid to a Phone

Pairing links your Talkid device to the Talkid app on a smartphone. After pairing, the app and the Talkid are connected and can talk to each other.

A parent or approved adult should complete pairing.

Note

One app account can be paired with several Talkids, but each Talkid can only be paired with one app account at a time.

Step-by-step pairing

1. On your phone, download the Talkid app. Scan the QR code below, or search for Talkid in your app store.

   

   Scan this QR code with your phone to download the Talkid app.

2. Open the Talkid app.

3. Create an account.
4. On the Talkid, choose a language.
5. Connect the Talkid to a Wi-Fi network.
6. Enter a username for the Talkid. This is a separate username from the one used for your app account.
7. Wait until the pairing code screen appears.
8. Read the 6 digit code shown on the Talkid.
9. In the app, look for Pair or Pair with a code.
10. Enter the 6 digit code shown on the Talkid.
11. Wait for pairing to finish.

Note

The screenshot shows a fake example code: 613 422. Do not enter this code in the app. Enter the actual code shown on your Talkid screen.

Note

The Talkid app works on Apple and Android phones.

What successful pairing looks like

• The Talkid restarts automatically.
• The Talkid and the app can communicate with each other.
• The app can be used to approve contacts.
• The app can be used to set time limits.

After pairing, the Talkid can talk with the connected app and approved contacts.

If pairing fails

• Wi-Fi: Make sure the Talkid is connected to Wi-Fi.
• Phone connection: Make sure the phone has internet access.
• Code: Check that the 6 digit code was typed correctly.
• Try again: Use the code shown on the Talkid and repeat the pairing steps.
